Sterling grew up on a ranch for most of his life and dreams of a wonderful little home with a massive garden, good smells and lots of art. And maybe even a jersey cow. Definitely some chickens and his cat.
He'll try to get anyone who will listen to read Heaven Officials Blessing and Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. His main reading genres are fantasy, horror, lgbt and non fiction. He reads, listens and watches a huge range of stuff, but his main interests are art, video games, movies, crochet, gardening, animal husbandry, and especially regenerative agriculture.
He wishes you a great day and hopes you'll stop by the store! :)
I was first turned on to mxtx's work through watching the live action The Untamed, which follows the story from Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. Ever since then many of her characters have been living, as one may say, "rent free in my head". The new, official english translations reflect an immensely fun to read first person omniscient style, and new readers will be pleased to find a glossary of names and terms in the back and a wealth of illustrations.
I would like to provide a trigger warning for intense subject matter, and encourage you to look up specific warnings if you may be effected.
Do you like slow burn? I sure hope so, because tgcf is eight volumes long! Follow the newly re-ascended god Xie Lian and his companions through many crises and adventure! How will the mysterious attraction between him and the notorious Ghost King Hua Cheng turn out? Who, or what, is the creature with the cry smiling mask? What happened in the 800 years of Xie Lian's past? Full of mystery, action, godly magic and knock you back plot twists, joy and misery, along with a vibrant cast, tgcf is so worth the read!

Mdzs can be a bit much at first. There are a lot of (very intriguing) characters and most MC have multiple names. I encourage you not to take things too seriously at first and refer to the glossary as much as you need! No shame! The plot will unfold before you if you give it it's chance. This is definitely an "aha!" story with many laughs and tears.

Part of the very popular Chinese xianxia genre, which draw on Buddhism, Taoism, and traditional Chinese medicine to fuel its world-building, mdzs follows the hilarious, mischievous, and brilliant Wei Wuxian. In the riveting tale of his death and subsequent revival you will be thrown into a world of tense politics, magic and, yes, romance. At once, tragic, soft and bloody mdzs has it all.
A beautiful, mournful, queer telling of the legend of Achilles and his companion Patroclus. With immersive scenery and palpable emotions Miller provides Homer's tale in a more accessible format. Heartbreaking and wonderful. This is definitely a must read and it haunts me.
