Virtual Book Talk with Deborah Thompson

Old Firehouse Books loves welcoming local authors to their virtual event space! This September, we are welcoming author and CSU professor Deborah Thompson in celebration of her new memoir Pretzel, Houdini, and Olive: A Memoir in Essays.

This event is free but we do ask that you register in advance. A limited number of attendees will be able to attend the Zoom event where they can ask questions and interact with the speakers directly. The event will also be streamed live to the Old Firehouse Books Facebook page.

Pretzel, Houdini, and Olive is a collection of personal essays about dogs, illness, and survival. The book confronts some of the complications, difficulties, and uncertain ethics of living in a trans-species family. While each essay focuses on dogs, the essays also travel the grounds of loss, grief, aging, and living.

We hope you'll join us for this event!
