Children's Book Week feat. The Story Bakers!
We are excited to be participating in the Children’s Book Council’s 100th anniversary celebration of Children’s Book Week! Established in 1919, Children’s Book Week is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. It is an annual celebration of books for young people and the joy of reading.
We're kicking things off on Monday, April 29th with two performances by The Story Bakers! This fantastic troupe turns kids' original stories into sketch comedy and live drama skits. Using music, props and costumes, kids see their stories come to life before their eyes. But we'll need YOUR help--submit your stories now to give these bakers some batter to work with! You can download and fill out the form attached to this page and submit it in person by bringing it to the store, or by scanning it and emailing it to us at email@example.com with the subject line "My Story Cake". The deadline to submit is April 20th. A minimum $5 donation is encouraged (bookstore performance only) so the actors can be paid for their time.
We look forward to seeing your stories come to life!
Check out the Story Bakers' website for more information on their awesome operation.
