From the Inside: A Look at Nursing Homes and Their Patients in Todays Elder Care System. (Paperback)
Now that my husband and I are in our late 80's, we face the same dilemma that many families do, how to answer this question. What will we do when we can no longer take care of ourselves? This book examines that question and offers essential information for prospective patients, their families and caregivers seeking help in making difficult quality-of-life and health care decisions. I wrote FROM THE INSIDE to share my views on the pros and cons of nursing home care. It is based upon my personal experience as a patient in various nursing homes. Those stays were made richer by the special friendships formed with patients and staff. Those stories became a part of me. June Severance.
