Get Your Resolutions Running with Libro.fm!

If you're anything like us, you've made a New Year's resolution to read more. Or exercise more. Luckily, there's a way to get both of those resolutions a great start with Libro.fm! Read while running! Listen while lifting weights! The combinations are as endless as Libro's supply of fantastic digitial audiobooks!

You pick the duration--one month, three months, six months, or the whole year--and you get access to over 100,000 audiobooks on any of your devices at any time you want. You get one audiobook a month for your subscription, and you can purchase even more audiobooks for 30% off! You can sign up through Libro.fm/oldfirehousebooks to support them and us and your reading resolutions!

Since we're partnered with Libro.fm, every audiobook you subscribe for or buy through our storefront on their website helps us. So you're not only supporting a fantastic audiobook service, you're supporting us, too! It's a win-win-win for them, us, and you!

Get Your Cheese On:

If you are vegan, lactose intolerant, or just don’t really like dairy cheese, our event with amazing author and cook Claudia Lucero is for you! She'll be in Loveland at Crash Cuisine on March 1st for a one-hour demonstration of one of the fancy, easy-to-make cheeses in her new book ONE-HOUR, DAIRY-FREE CHEESE! If you ever wanted to learn how to make your own cheese, you won't want to miss this event!

There will be snacks (cheese!), so if you haven't gotten your ticket, now's the time! Click this link for more information on the event and click this link to head straight to the ticket page

High Plains Wants You!

The High Plains Library District Foundation is proud to announce the opening of their 2019 Writer in Residence program. This nine-month (April-December 2019) residency supports the creative process of one Weld County writer through monthly stipends, in addition to access to HPLD resources as they work with library staff to develop programming, create online content, and attend district events.

You can check out their website here for more information and how to apply for this fantastic program!

Independent Bookstore Day Approacheth!

We're a little early, but we're so excited for the Fifth Annual Independent Bookstore Day that we had to post at least a teaser! IBD is on April 27th this year, and we're gearing up, planning cool things and awesome sales for that Saturday! Things are still coming together, but there will be, as always, some amazing exclusive items you can only get in store on the day of the party (like signed editions of certain exciting books, some gorgeous enamel pins, a fun new journal specifically for people who snack while they read...).

Keep an eye on this space for more information on what we'll be doing to celebrate Independent Bookstore Day as we get closer to April 27th!

Don't Forget Your Student Discount!

A lot of you have taken advantage of this, but as the new semester kicks into gear, we want to remind all college students (and faculty!)--at CSU and FRCC--that if you show us your valid student (or faculty!) ID, you'll get 15% off each item you purchase from us! This discount does not stack with other discounts, but we'll always give you the better of the discounts!
