Join us in welcoming John Shors, author of The Wishing Trees. As a special tie-in to our Open Book Club, John Shors will giving a reading and book signing at the Main Branch of the Poudre River Public Library District.  John Shors is an award winning author and The Wishing Trees is his fourth novel.The Wishing Trees follows Ian, a recent widower, as one year after the death of his wife, Kate, he finds a letter that contains her final wish - a plea for him to take their daughter, Mattie, on a trip across Asia. Eager to honor the woman they loved, Ian and Mattie embark on an epic journey that retraces the early days of Ian's relationship with Kate. Along the way, Ian and Mattie leave paper "wishes" in ancient trees as symbols of their connection to Kate and their dreams for the future. And as they celebrate what Kate meant to them they begin to find their way back to each other, discovering that healing is possible and love endures.
