Take a trip back to Chaucer’s England with this month’s selection, Mistress of the Art of Death. In this novel, a female forensic anatomist from Italy is sent to England to solve a series of child murders. Along with the mystery, there is an examination of the struggle of church versus state in medieval England, science versus superstition, and romance versus realism. Believable, human characters bring the Middle Ages to life. | 20

In January, we invited book club members from far and wide to attend our first Book Club Happy Hour, complete with wine, snacks, and a perfect selection of book recommendations for any book club. We had so much fun that we’re doing it again! You’re invited to attend for some of the hottest, best discussion books that are just hitting the shelves. Local author Cricket McRae will also be available to talk about how she works with book clubs. Please RSVP by giving us a call, sending an e-mail or pick up your ticket in the store; space will be limited. | 23
