Artists Association of Northern Colorado Celebration of Color Art Show
all day

Spotlighting visual artists from across the region, the Artists Association of Northern Colorado (AANC) will host the Celebration of Color Art Show and Sale opening June 4, 2010 at Old Firehouse Books in Fort Collins.

The Show provides the opportunity for approximately 40 local artists and high school students to exhibit and sell their work as they vie for awards for Best of Show, first, second, third place, and honorable mention. In addition, the Show offers viewing and purchase opportunities for community members. A variety of mediums and styles are included along with photography, photo art and jewelry.

The event is only one of several annual opportunities provided by the AANC, a non-profit 5-1(c)(3) organization. It is the oldest art-oriented organization in Fort Collins, Colorado, founded in 1955. As an organization of artists and supporters of the arts, AANC represents artists working in any media within the visual arts. Members range from beginners to professionals.

Because it has developed a national reputation, the AANC is able to draw high quality artists as judges. For this event, the work will be judged by Billie Colson, a well-known artist and owner of the Independence Gallery in Loveland. Colson, who is known for her support of other artists, organized A Night on the Town and the Loveland Art Studio Tour and Sale, a self-guided tour held for the first time in October 2009. Colson also teaches art classes, including basic drawing and introduction to pastels.

The AANC The Show will kick off with a reception and awards ceremony on Friday, June 4th at 6 p.m. with the exhibit running through June 14, 2010. Old Firehouse Books is located at 232 Walnut Street in Fort Collins. For additional information, contact Helen Cook at (970) 223-8297.
